Nayak Student Federation, Gokak (A unit of Satish Sugars Ltd.)

The Nayak Student Federation (NSF) has been established in the year 1991 with the goal of providing education to children from backward families (families that are educationally, economically and socially backward).

Since its inception, NSF has stressed on quality education and creating awareness about good conduct and ethical values in children. In addition to education, the foundation also provides free training in self-employment to children from economically and socially backward families. NSF’s main objective is to use education as a tool to create harmony among all sections of the society.

NSF provides textbooks, uniform, school bags and other academic materials to its students free of cost. In order to adhere to the high educational standards set by it, NSF admits only limited number of students in every class. At present, a total of 3227 students are studying with the support of 102 dedicated teachers in all schools of NSF.

NSF has received a letter of commendation from the Karnataka Higher Education Examination Board for producing excellent SSLC results with a pass percentage of  100 The students of the foundation are not only registering good results, year after year, but  also brought laurels to NSF by winning prizes in sports competitions held at the state and national levels.

NSF has established a residential school in 1997-98 with State government aid for the development of students from scheduled tribe. Presently, more than 110 children belonging to scheduled tribe are studying in this school.

Educational and Sports achievements

  • Kulagod High School has produced 100% results for eight consecutive years from 2010-11 to 2017-18.
  • Kumar Shankar Arabolla from Kulagod High School scored 98.40% in SSLC in 2015 and Kumari Sushma Devera scored 98.08% in SSLC in 2016 Mahesh Thippimani Scored 96% in 2017 and Ashwini Sasalatti scored 95.36% in 2018. Due to their record marks, they stood top among all high schools run by the Organisation.
  • Ankalagi High School, run by the Organisation, secured 100% pass results in SSLC examinations held in April 2016, 2018. The school has secured 100% results in SSLC four times since inception.
  • The Boys Kabbaddi team of Sri Siddhroodh High School, Muchandi has participated at the national level Kabbaddi competition three times. It secured first prize in 2011-12.
  • The Boys’ Volleyball team of Kulagod Higher Primary School participated in the National level volleyball competition.
  • Mahananda Gosavi, a student of Gokak High School, participated and secured First Prize in Satish Sugars Awards programme. She has emerged as a good singer and got opportunities as a playback singer for movies.
  • Praveen Gasti and Shivappa Poojeri, students of Gokak High School, have emerged as good programme anchors and comedy artists.
  • Sri S. R. Gayakawad, Sri A. G. Koli, Sri S. A. Baig and Smt. M. M. Hudali have secured best teacher awards.
  • The Boys and Girls Kabbadi team of Nallanatti Primary School have participated in state level Kabbaddi competitions.

Alumni of various primary and high schools of the organisation are presently working as sub division officers, doctors, engineers and in other coveted posts.
